Summer training course on circular economy: policies and practices in Venice

3th-5th of July, 2017 dr Anna Avdiushchenko took part at the Summer training course on circular economy policies and practices. The training course was organized by Association of Cities and Regions for sustainable resource management with cooperation with Venice International University.

High-level international experts from Europe and China inter alia prof. David Peck  from TU Delf), dr Lei Shi from Tsihghua University, Joan Prummel and  Cuno Van Geet from Duch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment, NGOs and business sector representatives from Belgium, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands presented case studies and best practices related to resource management, SME’s support, behavioural change, legal and economic instruments in relation to circular economy policies.

Practical part of the prating course was in a form of workshops and open discussions, where participants shared, analysed, and discussed in order to design and implement circular economy strategies at national, regional and local level.

Site visit within Summer Training Course was focus on zero waste strategies. Representatives of Waste Management Company “Contarina” at the Municipality of Treviso presented  their experience of such strategy implementation at the local level.
