CE4REG PROJECT RESEARCH RESULTS WERE PRESENTED AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ENVICON ENVIRONMENT IN POZNAŃ

On 17th of October, dr Marzena Smol took part in the International Congress ENVICON Environment in Poznań (Poland). Dr Smol presented the CE4reg project research results on the knowledge and acceptance of assumptions of circular economy among inhabitants of Małopolska, based on the project survey „Circular economy for eco-innovation and sustainable development of regions”. Moreover, dr Smol summarized the best management practices related to circular economy in Małopolska region:

  • In Cracow, as the first city in Poland, the sharing car service – Traficar was introduced (October 2016). Since September 2017, the sharing of vans is offered – joint action with the IKEA.
  • In 2008, Cracow – the first Polish city, which launched a network of bicycle rental in the system of so-called “City Bike”. Now, there is possibility to rent 1500 bikes from 150 docking stations. The system works all year (without winter break).
  • In Cracow, a cyclical action – exchange of clothes is organized – CIUCHOWISKO. The XXIV edition was organized of July 2017.
  • Coworking Cracow – the sharing of office space is offered in Cracow on such kind of services as gumtree.pl and olx.pl.
  • In 2016, Cracow, Długa 9 street – the first point of foodsharing (a place where inhabitants can bring food and also offer products provided by others) was opened.
